ABOUT DR NICOLE ROOS

Dr Nicole Roos is a Specialist Physician. After growing up in Port Elizabeth, with her love for a good challenge, Dr Roos found herself studying a medical degree at the University of Pretoria. After completing her studies in 2010, Dr Roos completed her internship at the Port Elizabeth Hospital Complex in 2012 and her community service at Knysna Provincial Hospital in 2013.

Dr Nicole Roos then worked as a medical officer in Internal Medicine at one of the biggest and busiest hospitals in the southern hemisphere, Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital, until 2015. In 2016 she began her registrar training at Steve Biko Academic Hospital and completed her specialization as a Physician in 2019 the Fellowship of the College of Physicians of South Africa (FCP SA). During this time, she also began researching and working on a renal-related study as part of her Master's qualification in Internal Medicine at the University of Pretoria.

Dr Nicole Roos has settled in Port Elizabeth with her husband, daughter and son, and is working from Life St Georges Hospital as a Specialist Physician. She has been on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic for the past two years, treating patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 pneumonia, including those requiring ventilation.
